Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance acquires real estate on a large scale on behalf of its clients. The basis for this is good collaboration with local authorities, developers and care institutions.

We have concluded performance agreements with five local authorities – The Hague, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht and Almere – to create rental homes in the mid-range segment. In Haarlem and Leiden, for instance, we have more than proven ourselves when it comes to area development and complex assignments. We are one of the few parties able to take on long-term projects successfully.

Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance promises that local authorities, corporations and investors can improve cities, each working from its own role. Area development is the key in this regard. In this respect, we go further than many other investment managers.

Together with Syntrus Real Estate & Finance, the Who Dares team had thus won a national competition with a pioneering plan for Rotterdam’s Carnisse district. With the Who Cares competition, Chief Government Architect Floris Alkemade sought to collect innovative ideas for accommodating the increasing need for care. This is a significant fact in urban sustainability.

With the repurposing of the Molenwerf (Westerhoek) in Amsterdam, Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance was one of the first parties to actively engage together with its investors in transforming offices into homes. This has since been repeated in The Hague (Wijnhavenskwartier) and Utrecht (Neudeflat), among others.

We continue to seek out transformation possibilities. Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance makes successful inner-city redevelopment possible, especially with properties where redevelopment is sizeable and complex, thanks to the knowledge and experience we have accumulated.
